چکیده

In previous studies, 1 day-old mouse brain incubated with uniformly labeled C14-glucose was shown to incorporate significant amounts of radioactivity into the “protein” fraction (1). All of the non-essential amino acids except proline and all of the essential ones except threonine were radioactive and had roughly comparable specific activities (2). The turnover was of such a magnitude as to indicate that 5 to 12 per cent of the protein-bound amino acids were replaced with amino acids derived in part or in whole from glucose (2, 3). Thus, relatively extensive formation of essential amino acids in this system was indicated. The incorporation of uniformly labeled glucose into the protein-bound amino acids of certain other mouse tissues has now been investigated in vitro and in viva in order to determine whether such turnover occurs generally.

Effect of in ovo feeding of amino acids and dextrose solutions on hatchability, body weight, intestinal development and liver glycogen reserves in newborn chicks

Early development of the digestive tract is crucial for achieving maximal growth and development of chickens. This study examined the effects of in ovo (IO) feeding of 0.70 mL of dextrose (10.00% and 20.00%) or amino acids solutions into the yolk sac at day 14 of incubation on small intestine histomorphometry and histomorphology, intestinal development, hatchability, body weight, and l...

Cloning, expression, and spectral analysis of mouse betatrophin

Background: Betatrophin, a novel secretory protein from liver and fatty tissues, is believed to be involved in lipid and glucose metabolism. However, its precise physiological role remains unclear. Here, we report the cloning, expression, and purification steps of mouse betatrophin in a prokaryotic system, followed by its structural analysis.    Methods: Specific cloning primers were...

Differential Metabolic Effects of Novel Cilostamide Analogs, Methyl Carbostiryl Derivatives, on Mouse and Hyperglycemic Rat

Objective(s) PDE3 has a functional role in insulin secretion and action. We investigated the metabolic effects of new synthetic PDE3 inhibitors (mc1, mc2, mc5 and mc6), on mice and hyperglycemic rat. Materials and Methods The test compound or solvent was injected subcutaneously to mice, for 7 days. On day 8, blood and liver samples were obtained. In hyperglycemic rat, 0.5 g/kg glucose with o...

اثر اسیدهای آمینه بر رشد میکروسپوریوم ژیپسئوم و اپیدرموفیتون فلوکوزوم

Background & Aim: Amino acids have different effects on the growth of some dermatophytes. Some may increase and the others may inhibit their growth. The concentration of some amino acids is also an important factor for their effect. Therefore, we decided to investigate the effects of amino acids on the growth of two Iranian species of dermatophytes including epidermophyton floccosum and mic...
